Journeys & Stopovers

The Year of Vilaine was a cultural experiment that took place between summer 2018 and summer 2019. Drawing on the structure of the main event covering the whole region, its aim was to shine a spotlight on the Vilaine river and Valley across the entire Rennes Métropole, mobilising and bringing together the stakeholders and the towns of the region, in order to create innovative responses to the three major challenges of the region, “Producing food”, “Exploring and discovering”, and “Using the river”.

More than 100 activities took place, with 60 partners and 5 joint exploratory projects organised in collaboration with local stakeholders.
